Michael Riemer
Guitarist, Double Bassist, and Music Producer.

His musical journey began with the violin before studying classical guitar at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" under Prof. Daniel Göritz.
During this time, he co-founded Stegreif Orchester, an ensemble that reimagines classical symphonies through improvisation and recomposition, performing entirely from memory. Free from sheet music and a conductor, the orchestra integrates movement into its performances, creating a dynamic and immersive concert experience.
As a guitarist, board member, and chairman, Michael has played a key role in shaping the ensemble while touring across Germany and Europe. Stegreif Orchester has performed at renowned venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie and the Elbphilharmonie and has been featured on German and Dutch television. The orchestra has received numerous awards, including the Startup Music Prize Berlin (2016), the D-Bü Competition for innovative concert formats (2017), the Würth Prize (2018), the European Trend Brand of the Year (2019), and the TONALi Award for “Courage for Utopia” (2023).
Beyond Stegreif Orchester and Wild Strings, Michael co-founded Remember Earth, a project that strengthens the human connection to nature through wilderness expeditions and performances. These have been presented at global events such as the World Experience Summit in New York and Google XI at Caesars Forum in Las Vegas.
Michael’s artistic work also includes contributing to soundtracks of big video game titles such as the Call of Duty Series.
As a longtime scholarship recipient of Live Music Now, he regularly performs in socially impactful concert settings. In addition, he is a certified body and consciousness coach (Josephs method), integrating somatic awareness into his musical and pedagogical practice..
